Solving puzzles through teamwork
We Were Here follows two characters—an Explorer and a Librarian—who wake up in different parts of an old castle in Antarctica. Each player, having their own perspective and set of clues, must work together. Exploration is key, and small discoveries slowly reveal the castle’s secrets and the events that led you there.
Every clue, switch, or symbol needs coordination between the Explorer and the Librarian. Both players must have a working PC-compatible microphone. Keep in mind that progress depends on how well you and your partner connect. However, the main campaign is short, but additional chapters are available through premium DLCs for extended play.
A survival game designed for two
Overall, We Were Here stands out for its simple concept done well: two players solving puzzles through clear communication and trust. It doesn’t rely on loud scares; instead, it creates unease through silence, distance, and the need to depend on someone else’s words. Although brief, it offers a memorable cooperative experience that combines investigation, exploration, and psychological tension.
